Ferrari World Abu Dhabi is one among the major attractions in the UAE located on Yas Island, Abu Dhabi. Owned by the Abu Dhabi government, the amusement park was developed by Aldar Properties, and is the world’s largest indoor theme park with an enclosed area of 86,000 sqm. It has the largest space frame structure ever built with a total of approximately 172,000 members and 43,100 nodes. The iconic red roof spans more than 200,000 sqm. Carrying the largest Ferrari logo ever created (65m x 48.5m). A unique oasis discovery, hospitality and beauty that captures culture, flavour and the spirit of Italian country, it also offers a journey through the exhilarating history and legendary heritage of Ferrari.

Scientechnic Lighting Solutions was awarded the Ferrari World project by Aldar Properties for the supply of architectural lighting, special light fittings and supervision of installations. Some of the light fixtures onsite required custom modifications to suit site requirements, which was efficiently achieved by innovating and designing locally at the planning stage. The project was

completed in the span for an year, and involved preparing extensive and detailed shop drawings specifying each aspect of the lights like photo-metrics, aesthetics as well as its finish, before moving on to the final installation and supervision process. A mock-up was done with the samples installed in a separate area to showcase the real performance and quality of its fixtures. ERCO and Louis Poulsen were the two international brands of light fixtures used throughout this project.
