Lighting solutions in the arts and culture sector
The Lighting Solutions division worked closely with the Sharjah Museums Department for the lighting concept of the Al Hisn Fort. Various lighting tools manufactured by ERCO were used to meet the highest standards. LED Cantax track lights were used for the internal areas because of their simple appearance and variety of beam distributions including spot, flood, wall washers and oval were used to add to the aesthetics of the museum. Due to their compact size and simple design, they blend well with the architecture of the monument without distracting visitors from the exhibits.
Combination architectonic bollard luminaries offered precise wash lighting to the courtyard and terrace. Al Hisn Fort is open to the public as a museum and is a real masterpiece of old Arab architecture. It has witnessed several social, political, commercial and military developments and changes in the region.
It offers an opportunity to learn about the modern history of Sharjah, the history of the fort, the defense methods and Sharjah’s everyday life 200 years ago.
The lighting levels were kept to a minimum in order to enhance the visual appearance of the fort.
