Lighting Solutions organized a technical visit to LEC Lyon and Technilum in France, offering UAE-based lighting designers a close-up experience of advanced manufacturing, architectural lighting systems, and smart pole technologies.
Kamel Fawaz, Vice President – Scientechnic Lighting Solutions, along with team members Mohammed DIDA, Business Development Manager, and Nasser Rizvi, Senior Manager – Projects, recently accompanied a group of prominent UAE-based lighting designers on a technical visit to two of France’s most distinguished lighting manufacturers — LEC Lyon and Technilum.
The visiting group included Regina Santos and Jessica Page-Duffy from Light Fusion Specialist Lighting; Andrenna D’souza from Studio Aurora; Ratna Kumari of CD+M Lighting Design Group; Fabienne Abou Jawde from LDPi; Dipti Saigal from Light Touch PLD; and Matthew Stone from WAHO Landscape Architects.
The visit began in Lyon, known as the “City of Lights,” with a tour of the LEC Lyon facility — a company celebrated for its legacy in architectural lighting and its ability to deliver robust, highly customized solutions in collaboration with designers. The team participated in hands-on demonstrations, gaining insight into LEC’s product versatility and design adaptability.
The second leg of the visit took place at Technilum, a manufacturer known for its expertise in architectural lighting poles and urban furniture. Guests explored the company’s state-of-the-art production facility, learning about its integrated processes and capabilities in producing smart poles, lighting fixtures, and IoT-ready urban solutions with a wide range of technical features and design customizations.
