The 7th International Genetic Disorders Conference and UAE International Genetic Disorders Prevention Awards, 2018 took place recently.
The conference focused on technologies of genome analyses including next generation sequencing and the informatics of huge data, epigenetic, genome sequences and medical information that are creating unprecedented opportunities for genetics. Ways to deliver effective management and prevention as well as treatment tools and better quality of genes for the coming generation, were also discussed.
The conference was attended by distinguished guests such as H.E. Mariam bint Mohammed Saeed Hareb Al Mehairi, Minister of State for Food Security,
H.E. Excellency Dr. Maryam Matar, Founder and Chairperson of UAE Genetic Diseases Association, Dr. Younis Kazem, CEO of Dubai Healthcare Corporation, amongst others.
The conference was also attended bu distinguished guests from the GCC such as Prof. Dr. Tawfik Khoja (MBBS, DPHC, FRCGP, FFPH, FRCP) Director General, Executive Board of the Health Ministers Council for States and Hani Choudhry, Associate Professor at King Abdul Aziz University, Saudi Arabia.
