Life Sciences and NEB showcased cutting-edge biotech innovations and hands-on lab training at Dubai’s university
Scientechnic Life Sciences (LS) division, in collaboration with partner New England Biolabs (NEB), participated in a university-led Research Seminar Series across Dubai, engaging students and faculty in the latest advancements in biotechnology and molecular biology. The sessions spotlighted cutting-edge developments in genetic engineering, synthetic biology, CRISPR technology, bioinformatics, and molecular diagnostics.
Led by NEB experts Rob Osborne (EMEA Bioproduction Manager), Oytun Ulus (Senior Account Manager), and Bart Bosman (Pharma Analytics Specialist, EMEA), the seminars provided deep insights into bioproduction workflows and emerging biomedical technologies. Scientechnic’s leadership team—Stewart Skariah (VP, Life Sciences & Molecular Biology), Firoz Abdul Samad (Associate VP),
and Muhammed Shafeek (Bioprocess Senior Specialist for UAE, KSA, and Oman)—also contributed to the discussions, reinforcing the company’s commitment to advancing life sciences education in the region.
To complement the theoretical sessions, interactive lab workshops were held, allowing students to explore essential techniques such as PCR, DNA sequencing, and molecular biology protocols. Attendees received demo kits from NEB tailored to their research interests, making the experience both practical and impactful.
