Reputed faculty member, Dr. Firoz Abdul Salam from the College of Applied Medical Sciences, Taibah University took centre stage as the honorary speaker, at the webinar.
The hour long session that saw participation from students and
professionals alike, covered insightful details on the novel coronavirus, its origins, cause of rapid spread, nature of mutation and impact on human beings. Dr. Firoz engaged with attendees on how scientists are attempting to decode the COVID-19 virus through genome-based diagnosis and strategies. He delved into the details of genome-based research, explaining the success LamPORE Sequencing from Oxford Nanopore Technologies represented by Scientechnic, has brought into the study of the unfamiliar traits and effects of this virus.
