Lighting solutions
Earlier this year, Sharjah Art Foundation introduced an immersive installation, the Rain Room that provides visitors an opportunity to walk through a continuous downpour without getting wet. Motion sensors detect movement within a dark space that is designed to intersect art, technology and nature.
This site-specific sound and light installation uses 2,500 litres of self-cleaning recycled water, which is controlled through a computerised system placed at intervals around the ceiling.
Sharjah’s Rain Room marks the Middle East premiere and the first permanent installation of this project by Random International. The Lighting Solutions division along with exclusive partners, ERCO were commissioned to work on this intriguing concept through the supply and installation of lighting tools that effectively highlight this permanent space to create an aesthetically surreal and interesting experience for visitors.
Grazing light wall washers - ERCO Lightgap was used to add dimension through high-contrast light and shadow effects.
