Traffic control system upgradation
The Urban Traffic Control (UTC) System for Dubai uses SCOOT adaptive traffic control algorithm based on Siemens PC SCOOT. The UTC system for Dubai was first established in 1995 with 112 traffic signals. The first family of UTC systems were based on VAX machines and later upgraded to Alpha systems in 2003. This project upgraded the alpha systems to Windows® based PC-SCOOT system.
The Mobility division took care of the supply, installation, testing and commissioning of three windows based UTC Servers and PC-SCOOT system. The migration of all traffic junctions from Alpha based UTC system to PC-SCOOT and also the upgradation of UTMC common database server to collect and store data from PC-SCOOT and Sitraffic Concert® - FALCON was also included in the scope of the project.
