I have been with Scientechnic for 10 wonderful years.
What is your role and what are your responsibilities at Scientechnic?
My current role is in the capacity of Division Manager for the Industrial Stock Sales Business Unit. My main responsibility is to ensure a profitable and successful year for the division while also creating a platform to enhance growth and ensure stability of the business unit.
Can you give us a quick rundown of a regular day of work for you at Scientechnic?
I make it a point to plan, execute and schedule my responsibilities in order of priority. As an early bird I like to start on the right track with an organized schedule every morning.
What do you find most interesting about your job?
Every day of work at Scientechnic is interesting mainly due to the culture of the organization. I have the freedom to plan and execute business strategies. This gives me the opportunity to analyze the outcome of my strategies, while ensuring that there is room for improvement. We are encouraged to learn from our mistakes and previous experiences.
What is the one recent accomplishment you are most proud of and why?
I view accomplishments and setbacks as a part of life. After a series of accomplishments you are bound to have a setback. Similarly, after a series of setbacks, the only way forward is success. Hence I see accomplishments as small steps that make a long journey possible.
What do you like to do in your spare time? Any interests or hobbies that you would like to share?
I like to research on topics that have a bit of mystery to them like divinity, outer space, deep oceans etc. They serve as a reminder that I am just a speck of dust in this large universe. I also enjoy listening to music, singing and meditating.
You lead a big team, what would you say is the best way of leading a team and keeping the team members motivated?
A team is made up of unique people each with different feelings, emotions and capabilities. The best thing a team leader could do is give each individual a sense of ownership for their work and acknowledge their contribution to the achievements of the team. This motivates them to perform their tasks in the best possible manner and tends to encourage collective effort rather than an individual one. Breaking down the overall strategy into small and achievable plans is an important component to having a motivated team.
